The Independence™ all began with a dream over several nights envisioning something to help him keep his legs in shape. He contacted an engineer, worked with a designer, secured a builder and now he too can go on a walk, attend a doctor’s appointment, or visit a restaurant with his spouse or friends without the use of a caregiver on his side.
The Independence™ has helped me become more mobile and independent on my own. For the first time, I was able to walk on my own with the assistance of the device. I look forward to continue walking every day."

The Independence™ changed my grandpa's life after falling ill and losing all muscle memory in his legs and feet. Since using the device for the first time, my grandpa has been able to get out of his lift chair and into a wheelchair on his own and work towards regaining his muscle memory back. I have been using a prototype of the stand-up walker for the last 2+ years. I truly believe that if I had not been using it these past years I would most likely be in a wheelchair most of the time. The device allows me to work my legs and keep them in as good of shape that they can be. Whenever I get into the Independence™, I feel excitement knowing I am able to do this on my own. My stature has increased approximately 3" since I have been using the walker. I am standing up straighter and my posture is better because of the use of this device. An additional feature is being able to transport it to doctor appointments and social events."
